What Is Garden Maintenance?

24 May 2021

Garden maintenance can cover a range of things across your garden. From regular maintenance to one-off, bring it back to its former glory maintenance. If you’re still unsure, you have come to the right place.

Regular Maintenance

There are a number of people who do not enjoy gardening, and there are also those that are no longer able to maintain their garden themselves. This is where regular garden maintenance comes into its own.
As our gardens are living spaces, that are also open to the elements, there is a lot that needs to be kept under control on a regular basis to ensure that you don’t end up with a complete jungle where you used to have a lawn!
Things to consider when it comes to regular maintenance include:
Lawn care – Whether this is a simple mow every so often before it gets too long, or regular weed and feed to help promote healthy weedless growth
Bush/hedge trimming – When you have bushes and hedges in your garden, they can quickly become overgrown, regular maintenance can help them to keep their colour and shape. If these are left to get too out of control, when you cut them back they will be more twigs and branches with very few leaves underneath.
Border care – seasons change quickly, so when it comes to your borders, the plants will thrive and die just as quickly, maintenance can help to keep these rotating and remove any that are past their best.
Weed removal – weeds can grow in all parts of our garden, and if we leave them, it’s not long before they take over. Regular removal can help to keep the number low. Consider your borders, your grass and even your patio.

One-Off Maintenance

Once upon a time, your garden may have been a hive of activity and you had it looking great. Sometimes life gets in the way and this is no longer the case. But now you’re ready and raring to go, but aren’t sure how to get back to where you once were. That’s where one-off maintenance comes in.
One-off maintenance can help you get your garden back to a point where you can keep it under control. You might even discover hidden gems along the way. You might want to point out things to the team if you know of certain features that you definitely don’t want to lose, otherwise discuss with us whether we remove all the overgrowth and anything that is past its best or whether we just get you to a starting point to crack on with your own ideas.

Landscaping

Sometimes, your garden may have passed the point of saving. This means that one-off maintenance is no longer the best way for you to get the garden you want. So why not consider starting fresh and letting us completely re-landscape your garden for you. This will take out all of the back-breaking work and leave you with a garden that you can be proud of. From here, either you can take the reins and keep up with the maintenance, or we can be on hand to help keep your garden looking perfect.

For more information on regular or one-off maintenance get in touch with our team today who will be more than happy to discuss your needs. If you have been outside to look at your garden and have now decided it’s past the point of saving, our team will be very excited to get stuck in and leave you with a fantastic new space.
